TaylorMade Golf Products: A History of Excellence
TaylorMade Golf Products stand on a history of hard work and a dedication to innovation. It all started in 1979 when a golf equipment salesman named Gary Adams rented a small building, hired a few employees, and set out to produce something new. TaylorMade’s first claim to fame was the metalwood, a driver made of cast stainless steel. At the time, traditional woods were made of just that - wood - but the new “metal” wood was durable, consistent, and most importantly, offering different performance from classic woods.
It featured perimeter weighting, which was forgiving of some shot errors and mishits, as well as a lower center of gravity which made it easier to attain higher launch in golf ball flight. The metalwood was TaylorMade’s first step towards the commitment to “breaking from tradition” that would go on to define the brand in years to come.
The Legacy Continues
From the first metalwood sprang a line of TaylorMade golf clubs, including putters, iron sets, drivers, and more. TaylorMade also produces golf balls, and other golfing equipment, including gloves, club covers, and golf bags that are well respected among novices and professionals alike.
TaylorMade is a trusted brand that golfers around the world choose to carry onto the golf course for the organization’s innovative products and commitment to quality.
